2ch will be gone soon? Please explain.
I haven't been on 2ch before, I'm a girl from Holland, and a friend of mine told me about 2ch, so I wanted it to check it out.

Why I checked it out? Because I like the Japanese language and try to learn it. ^^

My university splits up each year into "simesters".
Basically, we have a fall simester where we take some classses, then
the winter simester, where we take new classes. (some poeple take classes
in the summer simester too, but i work a part-time job instead).

A class only lasts one simester, but may have different levels. My music theory class (im a music major) has four portions to it,
for a total of 4 simesters (or two years) worth of class.

It's ok, let me try to explain it another way.
Basically, in the fall is the first simester (or half year) of class.

I took Music Theory 1.

Then, in the second somester ( winter to spring, or second half year),
I took Music Theory 2.

Since classes do not last long enough to warrant having them go year round,

why dutch people become the target for prank?
dutch role,go dutch,dutch wife,etc.

i heard dutch people were ridiculed in the late comedy movie of
britain.it seems that especially british people mock dutch
people.

152 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 03:10:17
dutch people may be the second closest relative of anglo-saxons.

language,race,origin....

they are like brothers each other.
still they don't like each other?

i know there was war between two countries.
i try to read the article.

but i feel british people make little of,make fun of
dutch people rather than
hate them. some british people may not like germans due to
historical problem, too.but i feel they fear germany power--in that
sense--they respect germans.

i don't hear dutch people have twisted feelings toward british.
is it because we japanese reccieve information unilaterally
from Uk,not from netherland?
dutch people also mock british people?

156 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 03:45:12
dutch merchants are mean over money and they even sold
weapons to their enemy,england.
cynically they submerged their country as well as themselves.
dutch people are strange group in europe? it might have something to
do with british joke.

just a smattering.
i don't know whether it was true or not.

i know. but we can't show jokes about koreans publically like

good plot for comedy?

is mr.bean also low-brow humor? i felt his skit boundary-pushing.
he sometimes look like retarded...

i like red-dwarf. rimmer? is funny.

chapplin?

165 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 04:05:40
Mr. Bean is the modern Chaplin.
Chaplin used more satire, but uses nothing complex.
I can't advice on good comedy becuase i rarely watch it.

166 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 04:10:42

Spain sounds like a very exotic place with various historical & cultural influences
from different countries.
I hope to visit there in the future.
BTW, do you still have the custome of Siesta?

I usually take a nap each 4 hours, because sitting in front of monitor all day is very tiring.

It sounds like that but its spelled Hola
When i visited japan the guide told me that japanese though everyone in spain liked bullfighting, flamenco and things like that
Actually it isnt like that, its true that its our traditions and culture, but there is only a few who are really interested in it

Oh and as far as i know we aren't exotic! It's a normal country with interesting things
And spain has so many problems between autonomous regions, we have ETA terrorists and cataluña trying to become independant...

Why dont you go to deviantart? you can write and draw there and when somebody tells you "nice job!" "i liked it" "i will follow your next drawigns" It really feels great and makes you want to draw more and more
The problem is that there are a lot of kids, stupid people and weeaboos
But if you are japanese probably, if you draw manga, everyone of them will love you and will encourage you a lot

YOU MUSTNT ONLY DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD TO
Do whatever makes you happy and your life good (So doing something that you like and dont get moeny you wont be happy for sure!)

If you do the deviant art thing, tellme and i will see your gallery XD

don't make it and commit suicide... lol

249 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 19:40:46
>>247
hahaha... I agree, there are too many weeaboos at deviantart. I've seen some
good art from western artists on deviantart that is obviously influenced
by Japanese art and culture, but they don't need to copy it exactly
or mention it all the time, or throw in random japanese words. Most weeaboos can't
even draw! But they think they can. Can't they inherit some of the Japanese artists' humility?

I've actually got a site, but I don't have anything on it, because I can't start.
I also hate the idea of posting proposed ideas for stories and stuff, because there
are too many people on the internet who have "coming soon" on their websites.

250 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 19:42:22
1/4 get!

251 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 19:57:44
>>249
Yeah, they are from very different cultures
About the humility, they probably dont even know anything about the artists they admire, since they cant read anything, they only know taht "this author made this and i liked it"
I try to be modest when i post my drawings, because i think that thinking you are best will make you the worst.

Why don't you post fanart? or, only drawings! people like to do that and in ddeviant art if you are good enough you can win money XD
Hmm, maybe you only want to do something BIG like a great story with lots of characters or something like that...
(´v`) Yes, that is harder, but if you really like it and can get a job out of it why dont do it?

Wah! you are going to draw something today!? (ºvº) YAY!
hmm whatever you like, fan art is something you draw because you like the work of other people so it must be something of an anime/manga you like
dont think of yourself as a bad imitator, think of yourself as an admirer of their work! you wont win anything from the drawing will you? then its ok XD

here in spain the most famous anime right now is naruto, bleach bobobo... but they must be old in japan now
Something i recently saw was Eureka 7, I liked it so much! (TAT) I cried manly tears of joy XD
and the character design is so...hmmm original? i like it very much!

What will you draw? Will you upload it?

264 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 20:42:28
>>263
I don't know... I decide what to draw when I sit down to draw.
You cried watching anime? I watch some titles, but I've never cried.

I don't know if I'll upload it. I don't usually draw or write stories
for other people to read or watch. I just do it for something to do.

265 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 20:49:53

>>264
I dont usually cry, but eureka 7 really had some moments that mad me cry, and yell at the monitor encouraging them lol, it was very emotiv, it touched my heart and thats what i want to do when i draw something
(´A`)Aaah, if at least i could live by drawing like you guys in japan... that would make me so happy...

If you finally draw something and are proud of it, you must know that there is somebody in the world that want to see what you have done

266 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/23(火) 20:57:42
>>265
I don't mean to be rude, but doesn't that sound like weeaboo talk?
I like drawing, but it's a hobby. I don't expect to make a living out
of it. In fact, I'll avoid it if I can. Maybe do a few amateur things,
but I don't want to spend my life wanting to get into a market I know
nothing about. Besides, most western artists wouldn't be able to cope
with the work ethics and workload in any profession in Japan.

Besides, Japanese media is just like any other country's media. Some good,
some bad. I'm not an anime or manga fan, because I don't just buy manga, comics,
anime, cartoons, books, magazines or anything for that matter because of where they
come from of the style they are in. I only buy things that interest me.

Japan is the only country in the world where "Fight!" probably suggests
that you work harder. Whenever someone talks about fighting in my country
in reference to work or school, it usually means resisting work.

But one thing I do like about the Japanese comic market is the adult content. They aren't
afraid, but the fans aren't shameless. If I could be anything, I'd be an artist of comics
and animation with adult content. People think it's crude, but I reckon it'd be fun. At least
you'd get a few laughs out of it.

This is weeaboo talk
" O hai waiiiII ^________________^ Yuo relly japanese? OMG SO COOL watashi nihongo wakarimasu desu lolol sasuke is my bishie"

I didnt tell you to make a living of it, i told you i would like to make a living of it, why? because it would be fucking more interesant than anything i have seen now
I think western people - eastern people can do the same, just because we dont push ourselves as much as japanese doesnt mean we cant, i think its because we dont want

Im sorry you undestood that
I dont like ONLY manga and anime because of the style.
I have seen and read american comics, spanish comics, and they are the same to me, shit, its my personal opinion, i dont like the stupid stories of spiderman, or lobo, or hellboy.
I like the stories japanese artist create, were it E7, evangelion, paranoia agent...
in this case we are the same, i only buy things that interest me, in this case, only manga and anime.

Its the same here, to every student you will hear "Ey you must study more!" "i know you are tired but you must pass the exams"
My japanese guide told me "Japan isnt a good place to live" now i understand her better
Living a boring life in which you are always suffering is pretty sad
And your kids commit suicide because of your society, I really hope you guys can change it someday

adult content? you mean doujinshis or something like that? Why the hell do you guys censor the sexual organs? XD You have to change that first! XD
I mean, you can see a 11yo fucking in a lolicon doujinshi, but you cant see penises or vaginas XDXD

Hmm... if you do something with adult content upload it please lololol

I don't think Japan would be boring or that you'd suffer. It'd certainly be
an adjustment, like any new culture. I wouldn't move to Japan unless I was given
a high paying job. I suppose many people would only move overseas for that reason
too...

Yeah. Why do they censor their porn?
Come on Japan. Stop being uncool. Drawing lolis and censoring them
is cruel to lolicon. At least just invert the colours.

No. I prefer to be given panties as souvenirs. A girl heard about my fetish once,
and gave me an invitation to her place by giving me a small box. Inside was a pair of
unused red lace panties with a butterfly pattern on it, and a small paper note saying
a time, and a place, followed by "if you want me to put these on..."
I miss her. She became my girlfriend, and we dated for more than half a year, but
then she had to move away, and I wished not to move. I used to buy her all kind of
nice panties. She has a really nice bottom.

No. Ugly is ugly. If the face is ugly, the face needs to be fixed.
If a girl has a beautiful body, but a horrible face, that is sad.
I like seeing a girl in pleasure. If her face is ugly, it will not
be pleasant. I would be happier to take a beautiful face girl who
had breast cancer and had her breast removed, than horribly ugly face
girl with great breast. I enjoy looking at lower parts much, but
if I cannot look them in the eye because of ugly, the lower is not
of use.

Well we're Movin' on Up!
Movin' on Up!
To the east side!
Movin' on Up!
To a dee-luxe apartment in the sky, We're movin' on up!
Movin' on Up!
To the east side!
Movin' on Up!
We've finally got a piece of the pie!

Fish don't fry in the kitchen,
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat!
As long as we live,
It's you and me, baby!
There ain't nothin' wrong with that!
Hooray, We're Movin' on Up!
Movin' on Up!
To the east side!
Movin' on Up!
To a dee-luxe apartment in the sky! We're Movin' on Up!

Killer Queen, Ganbare Tabuchi

809 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2007/01/25(木) 21:19:28
She's too cute... She sounds a bit sqeaky in Japanese, high-pitched

Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite

In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally
If you're that way inclined ~~

Brad Pitt is a good actor, I guess. I find Johnny Depp to be a
better sign of that a movie might be especially interesting,
as he often takes quirky/odd roles.
If you meant Brad Pitt's looks: Well, not bad, I guess. He's handsome,
I guess. But I don't know how attractive I think he is, as I've
never seen any clip or interview with him (I base a lot of attraction
on what someone is like, rather than what their face looks like).

Because he is really worried about his job these days.
Such as he's thinking of going to quit his job and so on.

After few months later, he got transferd to Nara.

If an owner of a death note see X's face after having Y's face

You can see it on Youtube. In a word, L used Ryuga Hideki as an
alias, and Ryuga Hideki is a famous TV personality. And Light
said in his head that if L right in front uses an alias,
it means the real Ryuga Hideki would die in stead of L.
The point is, whoever a name whose is written will die
if an owner of a death note can match his face and name.

Yes. I don't know any kanji yet, and I haven't found a suitable weekend
to learn the kana at yet (I'm a bit picky about being able to write
them decently). I can understand a few spoken/romanji words, but that's
it language-wise.

Learning German decently is higher up on my list than learning Japanese,
as it would be good to be able to take summer jobs in Germany (the
more time I can spend with my boyfriend, the better). I don't have a
choice when it comes to learning Japanese, either. Not that I mind.
Languages are interesting, and I find Japanese history and aesthetics
very interesting. Though my boyfriend is likely to want to move to
Japan for a few years at some point in time, which is why I have to
learn Japanese decently within half a decade or so.

Hello fellow native English speakers. I know you're here somewhere. I have a question for you.

When trying to help someone learn English, have you ever kicked yourself over these two issues:
1. You notice that you're grammar or spelling kind of sucks.
2. You become overly nitpicky over your spelling or grammar, and in the process, sound stiff and overly formal.

Right now, I'm trying to type like I would speak. Even now, it's still "off".

To those who don't speak English natively, this is my polite warning that my English, although fluent, isn't necessarily correct.

Yes, definitely so - and not just when trying to teach English.
When I speak informally, the words flow more easily; when I have to write
"correctly" or "formally", my words take on a far different tone - and
usually not for the better.
(incidentally: "you're grammar" => "your grammar". ^_^)

And you hurt the people you leave behind. Is that what you want?

Actually, I have that problem too. I try to avoid those situations. I don't always succeed, but I try. I want to strike a balance between natural and correct while I post on this thread. Wish me luck!

(I noticed. Oops. I also made a few mistakes here. Damn those MMORPGs. They've completely destroyed my ability to spell, or construct a coherent sentence.)

Why don't you ask K-tan directly instead of asking us whether she
wants to marry you?
lol

You've obviously never owned any boobs.
Trust me, they're definitely not freedom.

>>983
Sorry, no. Though there are tons of far more useful people to pick as your "waifu"
than me. Any celebrity works, any fictional character works as well. Well, better
than some random poster who's even already in a longterm relationship (i.e. me), at least.
